Why you will love this recipe

    • Easy to make – you can have this slice ready to go into the fridge to chill in around 15 minutes.
    • Family favourite – who else grew up enjoying this slice at birthday parties?
    • Can be made in advance – this slice will keep for up to 7 days in the fridge.

How to Make Mars Bar Slice

Making this Mars Bar Slice is simple, all you need to do is:

    • Melt the Mars Bars, butter and golden syrup together.
    • Stir through the rice bubbles and gently push down into a slice tray.
    • Add the melted chocolate and allow to set.
Step by Step instructions for making Mars Bar Slice

    Tips for Making This Recipe:

    • This slice is best stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
    • You can use mini Mars Bars, you will need approximately 260 grams.
    • Adding the Mars Bar pieces to the top of the slice is optional.

    What is a Mars Bar?

A Mars Bar is a bar covered in milk chocolate which contains Nougat and Caramel. In the United States it’s known as a Milky Way.

What size Mars Bars do you use to make Mars Bar Slice?

I use the standard 53 gram bars to make this slice. You can also use the ‘fun size’ or mini Mars Bars, you will need approximately 260 grams to make this recipe.

Can you freeze Mars Bar Slice

No. Due to the high chocolate content this slice does not thaw well.

Hi Angie, I’m sorry to hear this. How long did you leave it before cutting into pieces? I’m not sure what could have gone wrong, possibly the brand of rice bubbles might have made a difference? I’d suggest adding an extra mars bar and another 30g of butter next time to help it set. Merry Christmas xx

      Oh here too.
It truly is one of the easiest and most loved in this house.
I don’t have a thermi, but it still comes up pretty easy using the standard method I guess.
I’d love a thermi though, just for dinners and not having to think… also the custard is meant to be AMAZING

It’s super easy no matter how you make them! I like ours as it makes dinner prep a lot easier, which is always a good thing! I haven’t made the custard in ages, thanks for inspiring me!

You had me at Mars Bar, Lauren! I am trying my best to avoid too much sugar at the moment, but I really do have a weak spot for Mars Bars and miss them! On the bright side of things, when I do eat one it means I really enjoy it! I can imagine these would be perfect for kids’ birthday parties. Who could possibly not love these delicious little slices of heaven?! 🙂

That’s very true, when you don’t eat something a lot it’s all the more enjoyable – maybe I should try doing that 😉
