Why you will love this recipe
- No Bake – this is a great recipe for the kids to help you out with.
- Quick to make – this Slice is ready in less than 15 minutes, the hardest part really is waiting for the chocolate layer to set!
- The Perfect Sweet Treat – this slice can be made ahead of time and the slice (without the chocolate layer) can also be frozen. It is perfect for parties, cake stalls and as a special dessert.
Ingredients:
To make this Clinkers Slice, you will need:
- Plain Biscuits – I use the Arnotts Marie biscuits for this recipe, however you can also use Arnott’s Nice biscuits or any other brand/type of plain sweet biscuit.
- Milk Chocolate – you can use one block of chocolate for this recipe if you prefer, however for a thicker chocolate layer (as pictured) I like to use two.
How to Make Clinkers Slice:
- Crush the biscuits and roughly chop the Clinkers
- Melt the butter and mix with the sweetened condensed milk.
- Add the crushed biscuits and Clinkers pieces and mix well.
- Transfer to your slice tin and push down until the surface is flat.
- Melt the chocolate and pour over the slice.
- Place the slice into the fridge to set.
Tips for Making this Recipe:
- If you don’t have a food processor or a Thermomix, you can use a rolling pink to crush the biscuits and roughy chop the Clinkers with a large sharp knife.
- When mixing your slice ingredient together, the mixture will be sticky and this is normal.
- To prevent the chocolate layer from cracking when slicing into pieces, you can add a tablespoon of coconut oil to the melted chocolate.
- I also suggest letting the slice sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before slicing into pieces.
- This slice can be frozen for up to two months without the chocolate layer.

- 125 grams of butter
- 300 grams sweetened condensed milk 1 tin.
- 360 grams milk chocolate 2 x 180 gram blocks

What popular chocolate bar or lolly have you never tried?
Samantha Cupido
Hi Lauren
I live in South Africa and we don’t have Clunkers here. What can I use as a substitute?
Thanks, Sam

Oops I meant Clinkers

Hi Samantha, You could use another hard/crunchy chocolate lolly instead, it’s a pretty versatile recipe and handles substitutions pretty well. I hope you enjoy it 🙂
