In the 10 plus years I have been living in Queensland, I’ve still kept up the tradition of celebrating Melbourne Cup Day each year. While my celebrations are MUCH tamer than in the past, Melbourne Cup day is a great excuse to catch up with a few friends, have a glass of champagne, enjoy some good food and of course watch the race – if we aren’t too busy talking! With the big day not far away, I’ve put together a collection of easy and delicious Melbourne Cup Day recipe ideas to help make this years celebrations the best yet. Enjoy!

This will be the first year that I haven’t been working during Melbourne Cup. It may have been the race that stops the nation, but it never stopped the work in our office. I guess I’m going to be watching at home this year, so I think you’ve inspired me to get cracking and make a buffet for one!

I must say I am loving the look of the spinach & ricotta rolls though… yummo.
There are some really good ones here even for a light key Christmas gathering or Boxing Day get together. As we all know we are still pretty full from xmas right… lol although we all know we’d probably still just take another dig at the Christmas Ham. hahaha
