Why you will love this recipe:
This Christmas Trifle recipe is based on one of the most popular no bake dessert recipes on my site – my simple Trifle Recipe and it really is no wonder so many people love it!
- This Trifle recipe is perfect if you are feeding a crowd (you can get 10 serves from it).
- It is also REALLY is incredibly easy to make – I promise! All you need to do is assemble the Trifle Layers.
- You can also modify this recipe to suit your taste and the number of people you are catering for.
- Make ahead – you can make this Christmas Trifle up to two days ahead of when you need it, although I would suggest not adding the final decorations until you are ready to serve.
Christmas Trifle Ingredients:
To make this Trifle recipe, you will need:
- Jam Rolls – You can find these in the bread aisle at your local supermarket.
- Custard – either store bought or homemade is fine. I would suggest buying a ‘thick’ custard though.
- Jelly – you can use any flavour of jelly for this recipe however we do enjoy raspberry and strawberry flavoured jelly in this recipe.
- Thickened Cream
- Your favourite berries and fruit
How to make a Trifle:
Please note you will find the full method and ingredient list in the recipe card below:
- Assemble the Jam Roll pieces in the base of your serving dish,
- Add half of the fruit, custard and jelly,
- Top with cream.
- Repeat
- Decorate the top of your Trifle with your favourite summer berries and fruits.
Tips for Making Christmas Trifle:
- When making this Christmas Trifle recipe you can really be as creative as you like when it comes to adding the layers, I like to thinly slice the strawberries lengthways to decorate the sides of the serving bowl, however if you are pressed for time, you can easily skip this step.
- You can also use either homemade or store bought custard for this recipe, you will just need around one litre in total.
- You can also put this Trifle together the day before, just cover it with some cling wrap to help stop the whipped cream from ‘drying’ out.
