This Prawn Cocktail Salad is inspired by the classic Prawn Cocktail appetisers many of us grew up with. It can be served on it’s own or as a side to your favourite meal/as part of a seafood buffet. Best of all, you can have it prepared and ready to enjoy within 30 minutes.

There is no better time to enjoy fresh seafood than at Easter, and you can find everything you need for your Easter celebrations at your local Woolworths store. This Prawn Cocktail Salad is perfect for entertaining as you can easily adjust the quantities to suit the amount of guests you will have and it’s also family friendly as you can omit any ingredients that the kids won’t eat!

    Prawn salad ingredients

While this salad is delicious served as a meal on it’s own, it’s also the perfect dish to put together as part of an Easter seafood buffet. You can also enjoy it along with responsibly  sourced Australian Humpty Doo Barramundi, Tasmanian Atlantic Salmon Fillets and Woolworths Smoked Mussels. This recipe really is very simple (especially if you are using cooked prawns like I have) to put together and you will love how easy it is to make your own Cocktail Sauce from scratch. You can also double the sauce recipe if you would like extra sauce to add to your salad.

Tips for Making Prawn Cocktail Salad:

    • You can purchase either cooked or uncooked prawns for this recipe, you will just need to cook and peel them before adding to the salad. You can check out the range of prawns available at Woolworths here.
    • The cocktail sauce can be prepared a day in advance and stored in an airtight container in the fridge until needed.
    • I like to serve this salad on a large serving platter, however you can also pop it into a salad bowl if you prefer.
    • It’s best to eat this Prawn Cocktail Salad on the day that you prepare it. You can also pop any leftovers into the fridge to enjoy the next day.
