Looking at the recipes I share on this site, you could easily be forgiven for thinking I only ever make recipes which aren’t the best for you. While there is no denying I’m a big fan of ALL things sweet, I actually do also make healthy meals and snacks for our family most of the time – the majority of the ‘naughty’ stuff gets given away. One of my favourite treats to enjoy are these healthy chocolate bliss balls which thanks to the addition of cacao, are a great way to satisfy my chocolate cravings without over indulging. Even both of my boys love these chocolate bliss balls and have no idea how good for them they really are.
As well as tasting great, another great feature of this recipe is that it’s really flexile and easy to adapt to your tastes and needs and you can easily substitute or add ingredients depending on what’s in your pantry. To make these bliss balls lunchbox friendly simply leave out the walnuts, you could instead add a little coconut, pepitas or even raisins to add a little extra sweetness to these bliss balls.

Thermomix Healthy Chocolate Bliss Ball Recipe
- Remove the pits from the dates.
- Place all of the chocolate bliss ball ingredients into your Thermomix bowl.
- Blitz for 7 seconds on speed 7 or until all of the ingredients have combined.
- Use a teaspoon to carefully scoop up the mixture and roll it into balls. Repeat until all of the mixture has been used.

If you don’t have a food processor or a Thermomix you can also use a stick blender to combine your ingredients, it works just as well.

I love making bliss balls. I need to make another batch and I will look into adding maca powder. I usually add protein powder to mine. Zoe xx

These look great, Lauren. I definitely need some healthy snack options. I’ll try them this weekend. I’ve never heard of Maca powder. Do you need to go to a health food store for that? xo
