For a delicious and simple sweet treat, you can’t go past this Apple and Cinnamon Loaf recipe.

    Side View of Apple Loaf

This recipe combines two of my favourite flavours into one easy recipe, and I promise you are going to love it!  This simple loaf takes no time at all to put together and is perfect for  afternoon tea, easy dessert or as special treat in the kids lunch boxes.

It’s a pretty fool proof recipe, which makes it great to bake with the kids. You can use any variety of apples when making this loaf (it’s a great way to use up the kids half eaten apples!) and you can add an extra apple to your mixture if you wish.

Tips for Making this Apple and Cinnamon Loaf:

    • You can use any type of apple for this recipe.
    • If the apple you are using are small, you can use two.
    • Please note it may take longer for your mixture to combine if your butter is not at room temperature.
    • This loaf is freezer friendly for up to two months.

    Equipment

    • Loaf Tin

    Ingredients

    • 1 & ½ cups self raising flour 225 grams
    • ¾ cup caster sugar 165 grams
    • 125 grams butter softened
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 eggs
    • ½ cup milk 130 grams
    • 1 large apple
    • ½ tsp cinnamon

    Instructions

    • Preheat your oven to 180 degrees (fan-forced) and line the base and sides of a large loaf tin with baking paper.
    • Place the self raising flour, caster sugar, softened butter, vanilla extract, eggs and milk in the bowl of an electric mixer and beat until just combined.
    • While the cake mixture is beating, peel an apple (you can use any variety) and roughly chop it into pieces no bigger than 1cm. Place the apple pieces into a small bowl and add the cinnamon before gently stirring to combine.
    • Pour the cake mixture into your prepared cake tin and sprinkle the cinnamon coated apple pieces over the top.

Hello my cousin shared this recipe with me and it looks quite delicious. I live in the United States and don’t have a fan forced oven. What would the temperature setting be for an standard electric oven? I appreciate any help that you could give. Thank you! JP
