Lunchbox recipes don’t get much easier than these Milo and Weet-Bix Balls! Both regular and Thermomix instructions included.
A couple of weeks ago we found ourselves with an abundance of broken Weet-Bix thanks to an curious toddler who is currently enjoying perfecting his throw 😉 Although I knew the boys would still eat in for breakfast, I also figured it would be a good idea to try and use it up as quickly as possible which is where these Milo and Weet-Bix Balls come in.
I was tempted to make my Weet-Bix Slice recipe, however I thought I would try something different and based this recipe on the Four Ingredient Milo Balls I regularly make and instead of using crushed biscuits, I used crushed Weet-Bix instead.
This recipe takes no time at all to put together and the rest of the ingredients you need to make them are likely already sitting in your pantry. They are also a great one to make with the kids who will love getting their hands messy helping you to roll the mixture into balls.
Tips for making these Milo and Weet-Bix Balls
- You don’t have to use the Weet-Bix brand of cereal, you can you others which are similar.
- If you find your mixture is too dry, you can add a teaspoon or two of water to help bring it together better.
- These Milo and Weet-Bix Balls can be frozen
- They are best stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to seven days.

Kids have enjoyed these. I used half weetbix crumbs from the bottom of the box and half rice bubble crumbs. I made the condensed milk with water, milk and milk powder.
Gwen
I add chopped sultanas and walnuts. Also a good idea to keep hands wet if mixture too sticky when rolling into balls.

I am thinking of instead of milo drinking chocolate gluten free and weetbix gluten free
Lauren Matheson

Hi, I’m not sure where you are based but in New Zealand where I am, we have a dairy free condensed milk, the brand name is Nature’s Charm. I have no idea if it tastes like normal sweetened condensed milk or if it’s a poor substitute but it might be worth giving it a try if you can find some?

I just made these for the first time in my new Thermie. I didnt have any condensed milk so I used a tin of Caramel top n fill. SOOOOO good!!! Thank you 🙂
Lauren Matheson
Ooh yum!
Aimee
Do you have a rough idea of how many cups of weetbix crumbs 11 weetbix make? I have a whole lot of ‘crumbs’ in our weetbix tin and would like to use them up instead of 11 whole weetbix.
Lauren Matheson
ooh good question Aimee, I’ll measure next time. Off the top of my head I’d suggest 2 cups and if your mixture is still very wet, just add a couple of ‘whole’ weet-bix x
Louise
If you have digital scales,…… I just weigh one weet Bix and then weigh the same in crumbs. If that make sense
Clare
Weigh 11 whole weetbix to determine the weight you need then weigh the broken pieces.

We had these in our lunchbox every week as kids. Mum used 8 weetbix. One tin of condensed milk. A handful of raisins and a tbs of both cocoa and coconut. Put in fridge for an hour then rolled into balls. So yum! We called them rum balls – even though no rum! For parties Mum used to colour the coconut with food colouring.

What a great idea, I’m going to try adding raisins next time 🙂
