2 Ingredient Chocolate Nice Cream

After several days of being stuck inside thanks to crazy heat and humidity, this 2 Ingredient Chocolate Nice Cream was a lifesaver in our house last week – it was even too hot to go swimming in our pool!  When I found myself removing the boys from in front of the open freezer for the third time in the space of half an hour (it was nice and cold according to them!) it was time to distract them, so I decided to enlist their help to make this 2 Ingredient Chocolate Nice Cream together for our afternoon tea.

2 Ingredient Chocolate Nice Cream

We’ve always got a container of sliced up bananas in the freezer, and I grabbed the equivalent of two whole bananas to make this ice cream.  It’s sooo easy to make, simply add the frozen sliced banana to a food processor, add a little cacao powder (I used a tablespoon) and blitz for 20 – 30 seconds until the mixture becomes nice and creamy.

2 Ingredient Chocolate Nice Cream

This recipe made enough for myself and both the boys and you can easily alter the quantities depending on how many little mouths you have to feed.  Before making this Chocolate Nice Cream, it’s really important to make sure your food processor has the power to blitz the frozen banana. If you are uncertain, slice the frozen banana VERY finely and add a little to your food processor to test.

How ridiculously hot has it been here lately?! Eugh. I can see why this was the only thing you and your boys could resort to, Lauren! And what a seriously delicious treat! I love making nice cream – it’s so versatile, easy, healthy and yum. My favourite thing on a hot day is cold peppermint tea. Works every time! Here’s hoping this slightly cool change we’ve had stays around 🙂

Oh I LOVE nice cream… I have kinda undone it a few times by adding a hit of Baileys lol. I also add in some of my little healthy protein cookie dough bites to make it like a cookie dough ice cream… sooooo many options. This recipe you have here my dear, is a MUST for everyone! This sounds like the perfect way to cool down…!! I hope the weather starts to get a little better- at least to be able to get into the pool!!

It’s been hot?! Oh my gosh! I wish I was where you are! It’s SO cold and snowy here! I’m SOOOOO ready for spring/ summer! …also, this looks amazing! I LOVE bananas… banana nice cream is just the best! I’m currently sipping tea out of my mug with bananas on it (which my friends got me in honor of banana ice cream)! Thanks for sharing this recipe. Love that you added chocolate!

Um- yummy! Looks so creamy and delicious! I just love frozen bananas as they are but it’s a good idea to remember they have other uses.

Oh that’s a great idea! I should try that. Mind you, summer seems to be on a reprieve here.

This is the best combo isn’t it? If you serve it with some fresh strawberries and a sprinkling of coconut, it’s just divine.

I’ve started freezing bananas recently to use in cooking so I might have to give this a whirl! Especially on the days when Mr 6 is complaining again because I forgot to get icecream when I did the groceries.

Ooh so simple. I could have made this for the kids tonight when they were begging for dessert if I’d read this earlier. Will pop some bananas in the freezer.

It’s so crazy to think how drastically different the weather can be across the globe. While you are sweating your buns off. . .I am over here in Boston freezing mine off which has prompted me to look longingly at the weather forecast for Nairobi (I lived here prior to moving to Boston).

Cold weather or not. . .I am always down for a scoop or two of Nice Cream. Which by the way. . . I’ve just had for the first time a few weeks ago. Shocking, I know. I haven’t had the chance to experiment with it yet. . .but I love the idea of sprinkling in some cocoa powder for a nice hit of chocolate.

lol, I know what you mean. You know it’s hot in Oz when you can’t even bare the pool.
But seriously the sun burns so much and if there’s not shade, sunscreen or not, your gonna be in strife.
I love nice cream. I do a similar thing with making super thick smoothie mix and putting it in those iceblocky things.
works a treat… when I add milo lol
    xx
