- 100 grams tasty cheese
- 50 grams parmesan cheese
- 30 grams butter
- 20 grams plain flour
- 250 grams milk
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon white pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Cut the cheeses into 3cm cubes and place into your Thermomix bowl. Mix for 10 seconds, Speed 9.
Add the butter, plain flour, milk, nutmeg, salt and pepper and cook for 7 minutes at 80 degrees on Speed 4.
Serve.
Either tasty or cheddar cheese can be used.
Substitute the parmesan cheese with tasty/cheddar cheese.
We recommend using white pepper so that there are no black flecks in the sauce.
This cheese sauce can be used to top lasagna, pasta bakes, steamed vegetables or served alongside corned beef/silverside.
Store cooked cheese sauce in the fridge for up to two days. To prevent a 'skin' forming, cover the top with a piece of cling wrap.
This cheese sauce is also freezer friendly.
