Thermomix Apple and Pear Crumble

Ingredients

  • 750 grams pears peeled
  • 750 grams granny smith apples peeled
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoon water

For the Crumble

  • 110 grams rolled oats
  • 150 grams plain flour
  • 90 grams butter chilled and cubed
  • 90 grams brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon water

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 200ºC fan-forced and lightly grease a 20cm round pie dish.
  • Peel and slice the pears and apples into quarters and place them along with the water, cinnamon and caster sugar and 2 tablespoons of water into a large saucepan with the lid on and cook over a medium heat for 6 - 8 minutes or until the fruit is just tender when tested with a knife. Drain the excess fluid and transfer the cooked fruit to your pie dish.
  • While the apple and pears are cooking you can make the crumble topping by placing all of the crumble ingredients into your Thermomix bowl and mixing for 5 seconds, speed 4 to combine.
  • Scrape down the sides of the bowl and mix for a further 3 seconds, speed 4 – REVERSE.
  • Sprinkle the crumble topping over the top of the cooked fruit and place the baking dish into the oven to cook for 30 - 35 minutes or until the crumble begins to turn a lovely golden brown on top.
  • Carefully remove from the oven and serve.

Notes

You can mix up the quantities of pears and apples based on what you have.
You can also use a different variety of apples too.
You can also cook the fruit in your Thermomix, however you will need to do it in batches. I find it easier to cook it all at the same time in my saucepan.
