Easy Pancakes Recipe

This easy Pancakes recipe requires just a few basic ingredients and takes no time at all to make! Both regular and Thermomix instructions are included.

Equipment

  • Frying Pan

Ingredients

  • 1 cup self raising flour 150 grams
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 & ¼ cups milk 290 grams
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 20 grams butter to grease the pan

Instructions

  • Sift the flour and salt into a small mixing bowl.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract and pour in the milk and whisk the mixture together until thick and creamy.
  • Heat your frying pan to a medium/high heat and approximately one teaspoon of butter.
  • For even sized pancakes, use a measuring cup (I use ¼) to scoop up and pour your batter into the pan.
  • Allow the pancake to cook for approximately one minute or until bubbles begin to appear on the surface. Flip the pancake and cook on the other side for one minute.
  • Place cooked pancakes on a plate and cover with foil to keep warm and continue until all of the mixture has been used.

Thermomix Instructions

  •  Place the flour, salt, egg, vanilla extract and milk into the bowl.
  • Mix for 15 seconds, speed 4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and mix for a further 10 seconds, speed 4.
  • Heat your frying pan to a medium/high heat and approximately one teaspoon of butter.
  • For even sized pancakes, use a measuring cup (I use ¼) to scoop up and pour your batter into the pan.
  • Allow the pancake to cook for approximately one minute or until bubbles begin to appear on the surface. Flip the pancake and cook on the other side for one minute.
  • Place cooked pancakes on a plate and cover with foil to keep warm and continue until all of the mixture has been used.

Notes

  • To make your pancakes the same size, use a ¼ cup measuring cup to scoop up the mixture.
  • You can also make your pancakes smaller or larger if you wish, please note the cooking time will vary.
  • Instead of using butter in your frying pan, you can use coconut oil, ghee or any other light flavoured oil.
  • Gluten free self raising flour can also be used for this recipe.
  • Store any leftover pancakes in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. You will need to warm them slightly to help them soften.
  • These pancakes can also be frozen.
