How to Make Your Own Yoghurt and an Easiyo Yoghurt Maker Review

Brought to you by Nuffnang and Easiyo

In our house bananas, bread, milk, rice cakes and yoghurt are our staples and form a regular part of our weekly shop.  Both of our boys are HUGE fans of yoghurt and thanks to my husband and I also enjoying it we easily smash through two 1kg tubs each week.

I try to make a lot of the things that we regularly eat to save on our grocery spend, but making my own yoghurt was something I’d always put into the too hard basket.  We were recently sent an EasiYo yoghurt maker along with a selection of 1 litre EasiYo yoghurt sachets to try out and although begin skeptical before I tried it, I’m now happy to say yogurt is another item we are now going to continue to make at home.

EasiYo Review

It honestly took less than 5 minutes to make our yoghurt using the EasiYo yoghurt maker and sachets. To make our own thick and creamy yoghurt, we just added the contents of an EasiYo sachet to some tepid water and shook it to combine (a job the boys love helping with!) before popping our yoghurt tub into the EasiYo Yoghurt maker which was filled with boiling water – yep it was really that easy.

EasiYo Yoghurt Review

The brilliant part about making your own yoghurt at home with the EasiYo yoghurt maker and sachets is that once you make it you can forget about it while it sets, as the yoghurt maker takes care of the whole process for you.  We have been making our yoghurt in the evenings and then when I get up the following morning I simply pop the yoghurt into the fridge to chill and by mid morning we have creamy, fresh and most importantly yummy yoghurt to enjoy for our morning tea. My top tips for making your own yoghurt at home are:

*  Your homemade yoghurt needs between 8 – 12 hours to set. We found it really easy to make it in the evening after our dinner and then all I needed to do was pop it into the fridge the next morning.

*  Add tepid drinking water (15 – 20 degrees) to your yoghurt jar for the best results, if your water is too cold your yoghurt may not set as well.

*  Use boiling water inside your yoghurt maker and add it to the top of the red insert. The EasiYo yoghurt maker has been specially designed to maintain the temperature needed to create your own yummy yoghurt.

*  If you love your yoghurt to be really thick, you can leave it for up to 24 hours without it being adversely affected to achieve a super thick consistency.

EasiYo Yoghurt Review

Not only does EasiYo make it easy to make your own yoghurt at home, their sachets come in a great range of flavours (my favourite is the Greek Yoghurt with real Coconut pieces as pictured above), they contain all natural ingredients (nothing artificial in there!), are a rich source of calcium, protein and essential nutrients, are gluten free and vegetarian and each spoonful contains billions of live cultures – including acidophilus.

EasiYo Yoghurt ReviewIf you’ve got yoghurt crazy kids like I do, the EasiYo yoghurt maker and sachets are a great way to help cut your grocery costs as well as making sure your kids are eating fresh yoghurt which is free from stabilisers, gelatine and other artificial ingredients.  You can find EasiYo products at your local Big W, Woolworths, IGA and online.  To learn more about EasiYo, visit their website and the EasiYo Facebook Page.

My favourite is the plain Greek yoghurt followed by the coconut one. I was pleasantly surprised by the yoghurt maker. Love your boys yoghurt face x

The Greek yoghurt was really yummy too. Their yoghurt faces are cute but I wish they would just eat it properly for once!

Wow. It looks so easy! I never thought of making our own. What is the sugar content like compared to off the shelf products?

I never thought making your own could be that easy. My kids love yoghurt too. I love that it looks quite think and not too runny. Our favourite yoghurt is quite runny (and expensive) so is hard for them to eat without making a fair amount of mess. Thanks for sharing this. Jx
