In the almost FOUR YEARS (how time flies!) since I started this site, there are just a few more people reading it than my family and friends so I thought it was time to introduce myself again and tell you a little bit about me. I’ve put together a list of 15 things many of you probably didn’t know about me. I’d love it if you could also introduce yourself in the comments too!
Hi! I’m Lauren and live in Brisbane with my husband and three boys (five, three and seven months) and dog.
I have a Behavioural Science (Psychology and Biology) degree which still comes in handy when I’m wrangling the boys!
I’m originally from country Victoria and have lived in Brisbane for the past 13 years.
I’ve never been able to pronounce ‘family’ or ‘sandwiches’ properly and my friends and family like to remind me of this often.
Growing up I was adamant I never wanted to have kids but changed my mind quickly once I was older.
I have a fear of birds, even little ones scare me.
I know it’s very un-australian of me, but I really don’t like meat pies and refuse to eat them.
I have an addiction to reality TV and LOVE all things Real Housewives and Kardashians.
I may appear to look organised, but really I’m not. I use a couple of planners and calendars to try and keep track of where we need to be, work deadlines and things I need to do around the house, without them I’m lost.
One of my favourite things to do when I have some spare time (ha!) is to sew or knit. My Mum taught me to sew when I was young and while I stick to the basics, it’s such a fun thing to do.
While I may be a little obsessed with sweet recipes (they are so fun to make!) I’m very conscious of what my boys eat and we try to steer clear of anything that’s too processed.
My all time favourite desserts are my Great Nan’s Steamed Chocolate Pudding and Orange and Almond Cake, I can never resist either of them.
I LOVE to dress my boys in matching clothes (I’m making the most of it while I can!) but I also subconsciously dress myself in similar clothes to them quite often without realising!
It took us 11 rounds of IVF to bring home our eldest two boys, so you can imagine our surprise when we discovered we were expecting baby boy number 3! We also have a son and daughter (twins) who were born prematurely and passed away.
I hate clutter and mess, especially on the kitchen bench and I feel like I’m ALWAYS picking up after the boys – my husband included.
So there you have it, a little bit about me and my life! I’d love to learn about you too, please leave a comment and introduce yourself!
