It’s been almost five years since we moved into our house and we are still no where near finished when it comes to decorating it, so when I was recently sent two Jasart Creative Slant Canvas to have a play with, it was the perfect opportunity to move one step closer to finishing off decorating our home.
Jasart Creative Slant Canvas is a world first canvas which has been designed in Australia and allows for the creation of 3D artwork thanks to its slanted surface. I decided to keep it pretty simple and create a bright and colourful piece of wall art to hang at our front entrance.
I had to wait for the boys to be asleep before making a start on my wall art, otherwise it would have ended up looking a lot different to my plan thanks to my two eager little helpers! To make your very own canvas wall art for your home, you will need:
Acrylic Paint in your choice of colours
Let’s put it together!
1. First start off by joining your two pieces of canvas together. I decided to join my Creative Slant Canvas together at the thickest edge and used PVA glue. I then let the glue dry for 1 hour before continuing with the next step.
2. Use your masking tape to mark out where you want the white lines to run along your canvas. You can add as many lines as you like!
3. Now for the fun part – it’s time to paint! When you’ve finished, leave your canvas to dry for at least three hours as you want the paint to be completely dry before removing the masking tape.
4. Carefully remove the masking tape and admire your artwork before making the tough decision of where to hang it!
I am so happy with how this turned out and even my VERY critical husband was impressed when he saw it too. The slant of the canvas makes it look different to a regular piece of wall art and given how little time and effort it took to put it together, we will definitely be making a few more of these for around the house.
In creating a one-of-a-kind, handmade work of art for any interior – the various sizes and structural features of Jasart Creative Slant Canvas work in harmony with many art and craft materials including Acrylics, Oils and Craft Adhesives.
