I’m so in love with the Top Deck Chocolate Slice recipe from Bake Play Smile, I’ve made three versions of it in a week! This time I used a block of Nestle Smartie Chocolate (there may have been a couple of squares missing!) and played around a little with the other ingredients.
Instead of Cocoa I used Raw Carob Powder (simply because I didn’t have any Cocoa left), and I also only used half a tin of condensed milk, as the other half had gone into a Lolly Slice I’m made earlier in the day (recipe will be on the blog soon).
These changes didn’t change the taste of the slice, it’s still soft, gooey and SUPER yummy!
1 block Nestle Smartie Chocolate
1 Cup Self Raising Flour
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoons Raw Carob Powder
1/2 Cup Shredded Coconut
1/2 Can Condensed Milk
2 Tablespoons Milk
– Preheat oven to 160 degrees & line a square tin with baking paper.
– Cut chocolate into small pieces, and in a large bowl combine with all other ingredients. The mixture will be sticky, but if you find it to be little dry just add another tablespoon of milk.
– Pour mixture into tin and bake for 20 minutes.
– Once the slice has cooled, cut into small pieces and enjoy!
