Hello! Does anyone else feel like they blinked and it’s the first of November already?! Now I don’t want to alarm you, but there are now under eight weeks to go until Christmas and I’m determined to have my Christmas shopping completed before school ends, as the idea of dragging (well not literally – although…) my three boys around the shops while battling the Christmas crowds is NOT my idea of fun. While I make a lot of our Christmas gifts for family and friends each year (including this Christmas Cake and Shortbread) to put into homemade hampers, I also like to include items which I know they will love and use. Over the past year I’ve purchased some great products from some local Queensland businesses, and I decided to put together a list of some of my favourite products help give you some Christmas Gift ideas inspiration too – please note this post is not in any way sponsored and I have purchased all of these products for my own use over the past year 🙂
It’s no secret that I LOVE to use my planner and I was all kinds of excited to pick up my 2018 Leanne Baker Daily Planner last weekend. Leanne has teamed up with Padtastic (who also make super cute personalised notepads, notebooks, meal planners etc – you can see their range here) to create this planner which is now in it’s second year. I have chosen ‘Flourish’ for 2018 but will certainly be a little sad to say goodbye to my ‘Confetti’ Planner from this year. These planners WILL sell out, so jump on quickly to get one and also make sure you join the Leanne Bake Daily Facebook Page. Afterpay is also available 🙂
I’ve always had temperamental skin and am always on the look out for products which will help. Skin Boss is an all natural and Australian made face oil range which was launched this year by Kirsten and Scott Smith (Brisbane locals). I’ve been using ‘Get up and Glow’ for around four months now and I love how just a few drops hydrate my face and I’ve noticed a definite improvement in my skin. You can shop the Skin Boss range here. Also make sure you check out Kirsten’s blog – Kirsten and Co for life and style tips.
If you would like someone to create a hamper for you, make sure you visit ‘A Box Of’. Vicki from A Box Of creates gorgeous bespoke gift boxes and has a great range which will suit everyone. I purchased one of their ‘Stationery Subscriptions‘ earlier this year (can you tell I have a thing for stationery?!) and have loved getting a little surprise each month when my parcel arrives, and it’s also been a great way to introduce me to products from other small businesses. Based in Townsville, their contents are sourced from local North Queensland creatives and businesses along with across Australia. You can view the hampers available here.
My lovely friend Eva is the owner Knotlace and her passion for the product is clear. Knotlace necklaces, bracelets and earrings make the perfect Christmas gift for family, friends and even yourself! I own a few different Knotlace necklaces and bracelets and I love how I can bend and twist them to match my style. You can check out the range here. Afterpay is also available 🙂
I discovered L & T Design Co. through my A Box Of Stationery subscription this year. They are another North Queensland business that designs and creates beautiful high quality stationery (including this notebook I purchased last week), milestone cards, learning resources, home decor and greeting cards. You can view the range here.
We’ve tried a few different subscription boxes for the kids over the years but I have to say that Inspire Book Box is our favourite. Each month your receive a range of books, creative and food activities inspired by the included books, a parent guide and a small gift. We have a subscription for the ‘Many Hands’ box so that each of the boys get a book and have something to play with.
I finally, I couldn’t resist not including a product that I helped to put together!! Lucy and I are so excited to have launched our first printed product over at ThermoBliss – a 2018 calendar which contains 12 yummy Thermomix recipes PLUS a handy conversion chart! If you or someone you own has a Thermomix, this is the PERFECT Christmas gift! You can check it out here.
I’d love to know what your favourite local businesses are – feel free to leave links below 🙂
