There are only 16 months between our two boys, but when it came time to start our baby boy on solids, I had to pull out my baby bible (What to expect the first year) to remember when and what kinds of food I should be offering him.
We again started off with pumpkin puree, and have steadily worked our way through different vegetables and fruits, and have now introduced dairy and chicken to his diet.
Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with store bought baby food – in fact I have a supply in the pantry, but I prefer to make my own. Not only is it cheaper, I know exactly what is going into it, it uses up leftover veggies and fruit and it’s handy to have a big stash in the freezer.
Now I don’t like to eat the same thing everyday, so I feel bad giving my baby boy the same old combinations. I’ve been asking friends for some inspiration and below are some ideas for all of you baby brain Mums out there!
Pumpkin & Corn
Pumpkin, Corn and Peas
Pumpkin, Carrot, Spinach, Corn and Couscous
Roasted Sweet Potato, Pumpkin and Chicken Breast with Peas & Corn (this is a big favourite in our house!)

What food combinations are a winner with your little ones? I’d love to hear your suggestions

I loved roasting beetroot for my little man and he loved it too! I would mix it with carrot or sweet potato.
