Around this time last year, I sat down and decided the word ‘simple’ was going to be my word for 2014. I had already started to embrace it during 2013 and throughout the year I continued to live by it, finding myself turning towards simple things, enjoying the simple moments and allowing my mind to think clearly by keeping it simple.
Now that it’s time to decide on a word for this brand new year, I’m a little sad to let simple go and have decided to choose a word to put alongside it, to support it and help me on my journey.
When confronted with tantruming (look – a brand new word!) toddlers, piles of laundry and work deadlines – I will breathe.
When I look at the scary list of what I want to accomplish this year – I will breathe.
When that nagging self doubt begins to creep towards the surface – I will breathe.
When I feel as though I’m going nowhere and my goals are so far away – I will breathe.
When wondering why I chose to work from the chaos at home – I will breathe.
When I lay beside my sleeping boys, trying to take in every single detail of their precious faces – I will breathe.
When I find myself caught in a moment where I realise how very lucky I am – I will breathe.
Simple and Breathe.
I think they are going to be great together, what do you think?
A big thanks to Bron from Maxabella Loves for the ‘one word’ inspiration.
Have you chosen a word for 2015?
